Ja Rule is currently serving a two year sentence for a 2007 gun possession charge, but today, news came that he will likely spend more time in jail. Earlier today, he was sentenced to two more years for tax evasion, after he failed to pay taxes on $3 million he earned from between 2004 and 2006.
Ja has previously admitted that he didn’t have control of his finances at the time. “I was a young man who made a lot of money — I’m getting a little choked up — I didn’t know how to deal with these finances.”
According to AllHipHop, the new ruling could mean anywhere from 4 to 12 more months in jail. The additional time will be served concurrently with his present sentence, which he began this past June.
