After taking a decade-long hiatus from music, D’Angelo is finally back in the studio working on new material. Questlove of The Roots was recently in the studio with D’Angelo and tweeted: “Most people use midnight as a time to sleep. Others are working on their 11 year followup. This of course being hour number one.”
According to Billboard.com, the delayed album is set to be called James River and could be completed and ready to go by the end of the year or get pushed back to an early 2012 release, depending on when it’s finished.
D’Angelo’s last release was Voodoo, which was released in 2000.
